Scholarship

Investing in Education, Supporting Tomorrow’s Leaders
The Mothers’ Club has eagerly awarded college scholarships to our graduating seniors for the last 80 years. As one of our volunteer-based organization’s three pillars, the Mothers’ Club scholarship program serves as one of our most enduring examples of our dedication to students and staff at Grosse Pointe South.
In 2025, we proudly granted 66 scholarships totaling nearly $60,000. Each year, we effectively partner with South alumni, local organizations and families within the Grosse Pointe Community to contribute to this meaningful endeavor.
Are you a Class of 2026 senior interested in applying?
Our scholarship program recognizes student achievement beyond academic triumphs. We intentionally delve into the rich tapestry of each student, and not only consider academic achievements, but also examples of community service, leadership, extracurricular pursuits, character, citizenship and courage in the face of a challenge.
This holistic approach helps our scholarship committee appropriately award a student’s four-year body of work and impact at South. We aim for our scholarships to honor well-rounded students with limitless potential, who demonstrate an interest in making lasting impact on the world around them and beyond.
Mothers’ Club scholarships are anchored on student merit, and financial need is also considered for each candidate who requests it. This year’s scholarship application for the Class of 2026 opens Monday, Jan, 26. It is due by 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11.

Looking to Donate or Create a New Scholarship?
We are always looking for new ways to recognize and honor more of our deserving seniors – and you can help us achieve that!
In addition to scholarships provided by the Mothers’ Club, we administer several specially-designated scholarships. These scholarships come from a variety of donors, ranging from alumni who wish to give back to South; family members honoring loved ones; various community groups seeking to support students who embody special characteristics; or local businesses supporting students pursuing specific academic interests.
No matter your reason to give back, we can help make it a meaningful investment for both you and the recipient. Our VP of Scholarship can help work with you to establish your desired criteria. We encourage you to join us for our Scholarship Awards Night to present your award to the deserving student.
Not interested in setting up an individual scholarship? We also welcome donations of any amount to the Mothers’ Club general scholarship fund! These funds help ensure that we can continue providing scholarships annually to our college-bound seniors.
